Institutional foundations of the Chamber

Three central pillars underpin the Chamber’s activity: official appointment, memorandum of understanding and local representation.

Appointment of representatives vis-à-vis Israel

On 15 December 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somaliland appointed Mr. Dudu Mor and Adv. Eran Amarani as representatives/coordinators of Somaliland vis-à-vis Israel. Their role includes advancing business and diplomatic relations, engagement with the Government of Israel and promotion of business, trade, agriculture, education, training and technology.

MOU with the Somaliland Chamber of Commerce

On 14 May 2026, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Somaliland Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Israel-Somaliland Chamber of Commerce to promote trade, investment, delegations and ventures, and to enable the Chamber to conduct due diligence and credibility assessments for investors and companies.

Local representation in Somaliland

The Chamber operates through representatives in Israel and Somaliland, including an official local representative in Somaliland, enabling on-the-ground activity, coordination and hosting for company representatives and relevant stakeholders.

Important clarification

Status of the Chamber

The Israel-Somaliland Chamber of Commerce is not an embassy, consulate or government body, but an institutional and commercial platform advancing economic, trade and institutional relations between Israel and Somaliland. The Chamber’s institutional standing rests on the official appointment of its founders and the memorandum of understanding with the Somaliland Chamber of Commerce.
