Energy, oil and gas

One of the Chamber's strategic focus areas — professional, responsible review of energy-sector opportunities.

Energy is a core strategic pillar of the Chamber's work. According to Somaliland's Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the country has significant potential in oil and gas, including prospective areas not yet fully exploited, years of international exploration activity and evidence of petroleum presence.

Official framework

An official letter from the Director of Petroleum at the Ministry of Energy and Minerals describes an investment framework for oil blocks, including open-door negotiation policy, Production Sharing Agreements (PSAs), financial and technical requirements, blocks available for review and access to TGS data.

What the Chamber does in this sector

  • Connecting investors and professional parties
  • Support with initial document review
  • Coordination with relevant institutional bodies
  • Initial guidance through due diligence processes
  • Introductions to professional advisers
  • Support in structuring an orderly action plan

Important notice

The Chamber does not grant licences, rights, concessions or commitments regarding oil, gas or minerals. Any activity is subject to applicable law, regulatory approvals, professional due diligence and separate binding agreements.
